UBERSCHAR, EMIL E. - Died July 8, 1919 - Age 47 Years - Emil was brought down to the hospital from the Iowa Tiger Mine suffering from acute lobar pneumonia UGARKOVICH, MICHAEL MITCHELL "MIKE" - Sept 29, 1885 - May 19, 1941 UHERNICK - See Whermick UHL, PHILIP T. - Snowslide - Husband of Drusy; Father of Leonard, Elna and Vita Alta Uhl - Died Feb 12, 1879 - Philip was killed during a rescue attempt following a snowslide at the Highland Mary Mine. Stephen Toy and Anselmo Giovanni were killed in the first slide; Philip Uhl and John Klusman were killed during their rescue effort ULIDARRI, JOSE A. (or Ulibarri or Ulidani) – Pneumonia - July 1928 - Feb 14, 1929 - Age 8 Months UMBELL, LOTUS - Daughter of Daemerit and Lena Umbell - Nov 15, 1896 - Aug 30, 1899 - Age 2 Years, 9 Months, 14 Days UNKNOWN MAN –A hunter found a dead body at the head of Lime Creek in September 1883. The man had been shot in the back UNKNOWN MAN - Died 1886 - Found 1898 - In August 1898 a skull and human skeleton were found near the London Mine above Animas Forks – It was believed the man had been murdered UNKNOWN MAN - Murdered? Buried near Chattanooga - The body of this man was found June 18, 1888, in low marshy ground below Chattanooga. The body was so decomposed nothing could be done, and it was buried on the spot UNKNOWN MEN - Two Mexican Males - Died Mar 30, 1893 - Two Mexican railroad workers were killed in a snowslide this side of the snow shed on the railroad track. Their names were unknown, as they worked and answered to the payroll by a number. UNKNOWN MAN - Found June 1894 - Buried on Vallecito Creek - In June 1894, C.F. Holly came over from Bear Creek and told of finding the body of a man on Vallecito Creek. The body was so badly decomposed, and partly gone, having been destroyed by wild animals, that it was past recognition UNKNOWN MAN - On July 9, 1920, a sheep man reported that the badly decomposed body of a man had been found in the Mill Creek section above Chattanooga UNKNOWN PERSON – Died on Unknown Date – Buried 1997 UNKNOWN WOMAN - "MADGE" – Prostitute - Died Jan 30, 1901 - At 3:00 o'clock on a cold Wednesday morning, Madge, one of the girls employed at Luke's Dance Hall, crossed the channel of death into the vale of mystery, from a life black to the blind. URANES, MICHAEL - Mine Accident - Died Apr 25, 1910 - Age 21 Years - References to this man's name were illegible and "Uranes" may not be correct. He worked at the Kittimac Mine, fell into the flywheel of the crusher and died of a fractured skull.
